Since the beginning of botanical life on earth, the seed has been the powerhouse of life for the plant. Within each seed lies the continuing answer to generations of the same plant species. For humans, whole seed extracts offer a plethera of health benefits that have only recently been given serious attention in scientific literature. Rain Nutrition has combined a powerful combination of seed extracts with several benefits, including powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune system benefits.

Rain Nutrition: The need for children to take Rain products especially Soul and Pure

Rain Nutrition: The Need for Children to take Rain Products, especially Soul and Pure

Many of my patients ask if it is necessary for children to take supplements. And if so what? How much? And where does one start? Rows of multi-vitamins, fish oils, immune support capsules, calcium tablets and pills to calm children and help them sleep are displayed on the shelves of health food stores. Scanning the shelves, you might wonder how many of these supplements you child should be taking. In most cases, the answer is not many if you take the right supplements. Unfortunately our diets just don’t provide what is needed and of course our kids are picky eaters, so they absolutely should have a supplement in their diets.
Rain Nutrition has two great supplements that cover many of the nutritive deficiencies. Soul has enormous benefits for their immune systems, antioxidant benefits, vitamins for the nervous systems, and brain function. Pure, which is the probiotics, put back the good friendly bacteria needed for proper digestive health, immune system balance, and also better absorption of foods and nutrients that are eaten daily. Our children rarely can avoid taking antibiotics due to all the childhood pathogens that they contract thru school attendance, day care centers, and even just social activities. The vitamins that our children need do a number of things.
1. Building and maintaining tissues and organs.
2. Provide energy
3. Boost the immune system
4. Keep the skin health
5. Help keep the brain and nervous system in good working order
The vitamins that are needed for these bodily functions:
Vitamin A
Vitamin D
Vitamin E
Vitamin K
Omega-3
Omega-6
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B12
Vitamin C
Folic acid
Biotin
Niacin
Pantothenic acid
Riboflavin (vitamin B2)
Thiamin (vitamin B1)
Zinc
(as you can see many of these vitamins are in Soul and Pure)
The best sources of these nutrients according to the Foods Standards Agency is by the intake of fruits and vegetables several times a day, lean meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, seeds and nuts. The reality is most kids resist these healthy foods. The following agencies recommend that children should take supplements:
The Department of Health, National Institutes of Health
British Nutrition Foundation
Foods Standards Agency
American Institute for Cancer Research
The European Food Information Council
Here is an alarming fact: Recognizing the crisis in pediatric health care, for the first time in the spring of 2003, the American Heart Association has offered guidelines for screening kids. Checking a child’s blood pressure at every visit after age 3 Talking to kids about not smoking as early as age 9. Testing cholesterol levels and blood fats in kids who are overweight or at risk, and review family history of heart disease. Lets Review a few details and facts:
Omega – 3 fatty acids will establish healthy cell membranes that prevent inflammation and resist toxins and attack by pathogens, to help with better brain function.
Vitamin-E will ensure that fatty acids are maintained at optimum efficiency once they are absorbed into cells. In addition, Vitamin E has anti-inflammatory effects and increases resistance to infections.
Vitamin- A is needed for proper mucous membrane function, essential for the growth and repair of body tissues, promotes good eyesight, strong bones and teeth, and vital immune system.
Zinc- stimulates immune function prevents infections, acts as a cofactor in many enzyme reactions, including the creation of antioxidants.
Vitamin-C –has anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidant activity, and antibiotic like qualities.
B vitamins- utilized as coenzymes, essential for maintaining healthy nerves, skin, hair, eyes, liver, and mouth; health GI tract, energy, and help metabolize carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Let us not forget about the role
they play in depression, anxiety, and poor memory.
Summary: Clearly, our children need to eat better. Realistically this is a difficult challenge. Using Soul and Pure can help parents to at least begin the process of balancing some of these vital nutrients for the development and growth of there bodies.
